How to add Staff, Regular Contractors, and Students.
This guide shows you how to add staff members, students, or regular contractors to the system. You can add them individually, or in bulk.
The process is the same for all three types. We'll use staff members as an example, but the steps apply to students and regular contractors as well.
- Induvial
- Using the left-hand navigation panel click ‘inventory’, then ‘Staff’ and click on ‘Add New’ in the top right.
- You will need to fill out all the information that has an asterisk next to it, as these are required fields. You can put an email address in as well as a barcode. If the barcode field is left blank, the system will automatically generate one. You can take or upload a photo to the record.
- Press ‘Create’ in either the top right or bottom right to complete the process.
- Using the left-hand navigation panel click ‘inventory’, then ‘Staff’ and click on ‘Add New’ in the top right.
- Bulk Creation
- The system allows bulk uploading of staff, regular contractors, or students. Using staff as an example again, go to ‘Inventory’ and then ‘Staff’.
- Click ‘Import’ in the top right corner of the page.
- Then click ‘Download Template’, this will then download a CSV file.
- Open the document and populate the fields. When the document is uploaded it will assign a barcode automatically to individuals, so the ID field can be left blank. There is no option to assign a picture when bulk uploading records. Pictures can be added manually to individuals once the records have been created. When completed save the document.
- Click ‘Import’ again and then select ‘Choose file’. Select the file you have just completed, and the screen will change taking you to the next stage in the process. Check the uploaded information is correct. Once happy with the uploaded records, tick the warning box at the bottom and press ‘Submit’.
- The system allows bulk uploading of staff, regular contractors, or students. Using staff as an example again, go to ‘Inventory’ and then ‘Staff’.
